Do you feel like throwing something at your boss every time she peeps at you from her cabin? Do you feel like wringing your colleague's neck if he tries to win accolades for something that you have done?

If you get so worked up in office, then it's time to resort to some cheerful colours that will soothe you on a harrowing day.

We tell you how to use colour therapy in office effectively.

1) Red

If you have emotional baggage or you are suffering from too many personal problems, then red is the colour for you. You can put any artifacts in red around your cubicle.

It symbolises the root chakra, the centre of our life source energy that gives us strength, courage and vitality.

Its energy helps you to face emotionally and physically tough situations. Red increases alertness and self-confidence; decreases lethargy and depression.

2) Orange

If board meetings and presentations give you the jitters, then it's time to have an orange calendar on your desk.

Orange produces a feel good factor, which is optimistic and friendly. It improves creativity and strengthens your resolve to face difficult situations. It lends you the right support in dealing with your fears and grief.

3) Yellow

If you feel it's one of those boring days when your brain cells are not working, then you place yellow knick knacks on your table.

Yellow is the brightest colour in the spectrum, it's good for creativity as it stimulates your brain power to inspire new ideas and solve difficult problems. It clears negativity from the mind.

4) Blue

If you have been a victim of office politics and despite sincere efforts, have been sidelined, then place a blue bottle on your desk.

Blue brings out the values of honesty and loyalty and also inspires you to communicate with your superiors openly and address the issue confidently. A tint of blue on your cubicle inspires you to help others and lowers negativity and stress.

5) Indigo

Have there been times in your life when you have had a strong intuition about someone and it has turned out to be true? You can have an indigo cup on your desk. You can sharpen your intuitive skills with this tone.

Indigo is the best shade for enhancing psychic ability, it's the colour of intuition.

A tint of indigo will awaken your instincts, but also keep your feet on this planet. It increases stability and rational thought and actions; decreases blood pressure and impulsiveness.
