Gorgeous actress Katrina Kaif’s rise in Bollywood has been as inexorable as it has been perplexing considering her accented Hindi and western demeanor. Bollywood filmmakers are now deferring to her popularity with hoarding that features her exclusively, a are honor for an actress. The Yuvvraaj hoarding has only Katrina splashed over it, while the male leads Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor and Zayed Khan, for a change have taken a back seat.

In a first of its kind marketing strategy, an actress has been given precedence over the male lead in the first publicity poster. This speaks volumes of the heights that Katrina has reached as an actress. It is apparent her producer n director Subhash Ghai is sending out the message that Katrina carries more weight at the Box Office than a star like Salman Khan.

However, Subhash Ghai says, “It is entirely a marketing strategy; like at our Yuvvraaj music release event you only found the music director A R Rahman, lyricist Gulzar and the director. So displaying Katrina solo on the first hoarding symbolizes as music begins because she is playing the lead musician in this musical family drama. It is our way of telling the story to the people. We all know that Salman is the lead star”.

Katrina says, “Though I am thrilled I do not let these things go to my head. I am sure Subhashji knows what he is doing. He has more knowledge and experience than me, and I respect and follow his vision blindly. The picture of mine used in the hoarding is a particular favorite of almost everyone in the unit. It was also the same picture that Salman loved so much that he wanted to paint it. It is a very special picture for me”.

The stunning actress has worked really hard for this movie it is heard that she took special care to get her look right for Yuvvraaj. Katrina went all the way to Dehli to spend an entire day with designers Gauri and Nainika, and tried over 200 gowns for her. Her look in the movie can best be described as classic and regal, so much so that her dress code included empire line waistlines and Grecian gowns!


Of course, every gown gave a different effect and Katrina was keen to zero in on her costumes way in advance. It looks like the effort has paid off! Kats who is playing a musician in the movie revealed, “The character that I play loves music and is an expert at playing the Cello“.

Katrina says that she had prepared herself for the role much in advance. She smiles, “I wanted to look convincing holding and strumming the Cello. Though I have been shown playing the Cello on the screen, I was not actually playing it on the sets. A background music score has been used for the effect”. Katrina further added that when it comes to music she has a good sense of melody and rhythm but is not a great musician. She says, “I guess I learnt a lot more about music thanks to Yuvvraaj”.

Katrina is considered to be a lucky mascot for her directors. Subhash Ghai is confident that Katrina will bring in luck for him too, solo hoarding of Katrina is his way of telling her that she has earned her rightful due in the movie.


The source close to the industry said, “Katrina has done a fabulous job in Yuvvraaj. Ghai has witnessed the dedication with which Katrina has worked in the movie. Hence the solo hoarding”. Katrina is amongst the top actresses today and Ghai feels that with Yuvvraaj Katrina will make history of Indian cinema.



The movie will shock people who think that Salman Katrina relationship is reaching its end whatever may be the truth about Sallu-Kat’s real life romance, their on screen chemistry is a stunner. It is sizzling! The lucky ones who got an advance sneak peek at some scenes of the movie were blown away. Katrina and Salman are looking simply out of this world; probably the hottest pair in B-Town (sorry Saifeena, Abhiash, but you have to see this to believe it). In fact, Brangelina would probably sit up and rub their eyes in disbelief too.

But their huge number of fans will be delighted to see their fondness for one another as ace filmmaker Ghai captures the closeness, attraction, love the couple display so effortlessly in his flick. They both are at their romantic heights and both sizzles in Yuvvraaj, Salman is looking like a million bucks. But it is English rose Katrina, whose shots with make made up like royalty and playing the cello will make any man weak in the knees.



The AR Rahman song is a sensation too. Al in all, Subhash Ghai is grinning ear to ear, knowing he has a blockbuster on his hands. Like he proudly proclaimed, “This will be like a 140mm scale flick, you have to watch it to believe it!” All right, we await with bated breath for the film.
