"Apply your foundation with your hands, a bit like a moisturizer," says P&G Beauty's Global Creative Design Director Pat McGrath of the first step towards a natural sheen like Drew Barrymore's. "Then rub away where you think you didn't need any," she says, citing the nose, chin and cheeks as the best spots to subtract. "You'll bring back that natural glow to your face."

HOLD THE HIGHLIGHTS



"Want healthier, shinier hair? Then stop getting so many highlights," says colorist Kelly Van Gogh. "You run the risk of over processing your hair," she explains, recommending multi-dimensional, all-over color similar to her signature Master Blend. "If you want to lighten up, try only putting in 7-10 highlights scattered through the top layer. This technique will save you time, money and will ultimately save your hair."

LENGTHEN THOSE LASHES




"Instead of curling your lashes up, comb them out to the side," says Yves Saint Laurent Beauty's National Makeup Artist Dell Ashley. "It's going to elongate your eye and give a longer, fuller effect to the lash, and is also going to give you the look of an almond or cat-shaped eye."

"My philosophy is always 'play!'," says celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow. The new season is the perfect time to follow Hollywood's lead and test out the trends. "For spring I'm loving pops of color, it can really light up your face. Select a shade that you're drawn to. Be a little daring. Have fun!"

LOSE THE BAGGAGE



"It's like a DIY spa at the crack of dawn," says makeup artist Nick Barose. One of his favorite eye-prep tricks that he passes along to celeb clients like Anne Heche involves using Clinique All About Eyes Serum. "Put it in the fridge so it's ice cold when you apply it to your under eyes in the morning to depuff."
